(General Duty/Domestic Branch)
A Competitive Examination is conducted for the recruitment of Naviks (General Duty /Domestic Branch) in the Indian Coast Guard.
Eligibility
General Ditty (GD): 10+2 with Science Stream (Maths and Physics) from an education board recognised by Central/State govt. Domestic Branch: Matriculate.
Age: 17-22 years as on 1st July of the year of recruitment. The upper age limit is relaxable for SC/ST by 5 years and 3-year for OBC candidates.
Physical Standards: Height: Min. 157 cms. (May be reduced by 5 cms in the case of Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese (including those from Nagaland, Mlzoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tnpura, Garhwal, Sikkm, local tribals of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and by 2 cms in case of candidates from Lakshdweep, Mainland settlers in Andaman and Nicobar and candidates joining the Coast Guard on secondment from other Govt. departments).
Pay, Perks and Other Benefits
(i) Starting pay: Navik (General Duty)- Rs. 3050-4590 and :Navik (GD): Rs. 2750-4400. In addition Dearness Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Kit Maintenance Allowance and liberal allowances may be admissible.
(ii) Other benefits: Free food, free clothing, free med ica I treatment of self and family including dependent parents.
(iii) Leave: 45 days Earned Leave and 08 days Casual Leave every year WIth leave travel concession for self and familv. Earned
leave can also be accumulated.
(iv) Group Insurance: An insurance cover of Rs. 7.5 Lakhs at a premium of Rs. 750/ - per month.
(v) Contributory Pension Scheme, Provident Fund and Gratuity on retirement.
(vi) Promotion prospects for Navik (GD) to Officer Rank subject to suitability and performance.
Selection Procedure Selection Procedure consists of selection tests/interview. Candidates have the option of answering questions in English/Hindi.
