The Indian Air Force recruits Airmen in Group 'Y' trades from time to time.
Eligibility Unmarried tnale Indian citizens (subject to Nepal are also eligible).
Educational Qualification
Intermediate/l0+2 or equivalent examination with
minimum 50% marks and pass marks in aggregate ,·vith Science, Arts or Commerce
subjects.
Age: 16-22 years.
Medical Standard:
(a) Minimum Height: 152.5 cms.
(b) Chest: Minimum expansion of 5 cm
(c) Weight: Corresponding to height and age.
(d) Vision: Cnaided 6/36 corrected with glass: 6/9 each eye. Power limit up to ±3.5

perception: CP-III. Note: For IAF (Police) and IAF (Security) Lnaided vision should
be 6/6 and CP-Il, candidates using spectacles cannot apply for this post. Corneal
Surgery (PRK/ LASIL) is not acceptable.
(e) Hearing: Able to hear forced whisper at 6 mts. with each ear sepclrately (ears
should be free of wax).
(f) Dental: Shou lel have healthy gums, good set of teeth and 14 dental points.
(g) Health: The candidate should be free from any medical or surgical deformity.
Candidate shOll ld be free from all communicable dise.;ses. Candidate must be
phvsically and mentally fit to perform duty in an\' Pclrt of the world, in c1ny
c1imilte and terrain.
Selection Candidates are tested in English (based on CBSE Class XlIth Std.) and Reasoning & General Awareness.
Written Test: Question papers are objective and bilingual (English and Hindi). Duration of Written Test is 45 minutes. On the successful completion of written test successful candidates will have to undergo a Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
Physical Fitness Test (PIT): Qualifying in PFT is mandatory. In this, 1.6 km run is to be completed in maximum of 8 minutes. Those completing the PFT in less than 7 minutes 30 seconds are awarded an additional marks. Candidates should bring sports shoes and shorts.
Interview/Medical Examination: Candidates who qualify in PFT are interviewed. The recommended candidates are to undergo medical examination by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards.
