Recruitment of Junior Commissioned Officer (Catering) in the Army

Eligibility

(a) Age Limit: Between 21 to 27 years as in the year of recruitment.
(b) Educational Qualification: The candidate must be in possession of the following qualifications:
(i) 10+2 or equivalent from any Education board recognized by Council of Board of School Ed ucation in India.
(ii) Diploma/Certificate course of a duration of one year or more in Cookery /Hotel Management and Catering Technology from a recognized Food CraftInstitute/University.

Physical and Medical Standards: As applicable to the regular army. (Details may be obtained from nearest ZRO / ARO /IRO).

Screening: Screening of candidates are carried out as per the programme issued by Recruiting Offices.

Physical Fitness Test: Physical fibless test applicable as given under: (a) 1 mile run in maximum 6.20 minutes (b) Pull up (Beam)-minimum of 6 (c) Balance - Qualify (d) 9 feet ditch - qualify.

Medical Standard: A candidate should have robust physique and mental health, chest should be well developed having minimum 5cm. expansion, should have normal hearing with each ear. Should have sufficient number of natural healthy gum and teeth, i.e. 14 dental points. Should not have diseases like deformity of bones, hydrocele, varicose veins or piles. Should be in medical category.

Examination

Written Examination: Only those candidates selected in the screening are permitted to appear in the written examination conducted only HQ Recruiting Zones. The written examination is of three hOll rs.

Interview: The candidates declared successful in the above written examination are placed in the merit list to appear for an interview at nominated Regimental Centre. Candidates are paid traveling allowance from their home station to interview centre.

Terms of Enrolment: Selected candidates will be commissioned as Niab Subedar (Group 'Y') after completion of Military and Technical Training. .

Pay, and Allowance: Junior Commission Officer gets the pay scale of Naib Subedar (Group 'Y') of Rs 5620-140-8140. In addition, entitled to DA, free accommodation, free ration for self, free medical and ICilve travel Concession for self, family and dependents.
