Technical Entry Scheme (TES) for Male 10+2 (PCM) Candidates
Eligibility
(a) Natiollnlity/Citizensltip: A candidate must be either:
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who came over to Indian before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
(b) Age: A
candidate must be in the age-group of 16.5 -19.5 years on the first day of the
month in which the course is commencing.
(c) Educational Qualification: Candidates
who have 10+2 (PCM) certificate with minimum 70% aggregate marks in PCM are
eligible for this scheme.
Physical Standards: (a) Height and Weight: Minimum height 157 cm with correlated
weight and proportionate chest with minimum 5 cm expansion. (b) Eye sight: Unaided
distant vision 6/12, 6/18. Type of Commission: On successful completion of course,
cadets are granted Permanent Commission in the rank of Lt. in the Army in
Technical branches i.e. EME, Sings, Engrs.
Training: Total training is for a
period of 5 years, as under:
(a) Basic Military Training: 1 year at IMA, Dehradun
(b) Technical Training:
1. Phase I (Pre-Commission Training): 3 years at CME Pune, MCTE Mhow, MCEME
Secundrabad.
2. Phase II (Post Commission Training) : 1 year at CME, Pune, MCTE,
Mhow, and MCEME, Secunderabad.
Selection Procedure: The candidates are selected on the basis of their academic
performance followed by medical exam. During the 5 days SSB Interview, candidates
are put through Psychological Test, Individual Task, Group Tasks, GD and
Interview. On the 1st day of Interview, the candidates undergo an Intelligence
Test & only those who qualify, participate in the su bsequent tests. Only those
candidates recommended by the SSB and declared medically fit, are appointed for
training. On completion of the course/ training, successful candidates are granted
Permanent Commision.
Cost of Training: The entire cost of training including books and reading material
is borne by the Army, cadets are also provided with free clothing and messing.
Stipend/Pay and Allowances: The candidates are given a stipend of Rs. 8,000/- P.M.
as is admissible to NDA cadets on completion of 3 years training. On com pletion
of 4 years training they are commissioned in the rank Lt and entitled to pay scale
as admissible to the rank.
